Early Intervention Classrooms

Our early intervention classrooms cater to children from 2 years of age. A therapeutic-based learning programme is implemented daily. A class teacher, facilitator, and classroom assistant provide intensive individual and small-group support. A maximum of 6 learners per early intervention group ensures intensive input across all the developmental areas.

Pre-School Intervention Classrooms

We currently have 2 preschool classes catering to learners who can follow the preschool curriculum with support. These classrooms accommodate a maximum of 7 learners per classroom to ensure individual support and facilitation as required. Our curriculum includes practical and interactive learning across all the developmental areas. The preschool classrooms are each staffed with a teacher and classroom assistant.

Foundation Phase

We currently have 2 Foundation Phase classrooms that accommodate a maximum of 7 learners per classroom with a class teacher and facilitator to support the learners in each classroom. We implement a CAPS-aligned curriculum including therapeutic-based, interactive, and creative learning methods to target each developmental area.

Intermediate Phase

Learners who can follow the mainstream curriculum with individual support continue to Grade 4 and onwards where they are individually supported by a class teacher and facilitator. We implement the ‘Neuro Me’ online learning program where parents have a choice between different curriculum options that are aligned with the DBE requirements. In this phase, we continue to provide therapeutic support and holistic development of learners by including social skills groups, executive functioning, and physical education intervention.

High-Support and Practical Life Skills

We currently have a foundation phase classroom for learners requiring intensive individual support across many developmental areas. Each learner follows an Individual Education Plan and a therapeutic-based, practical, and adapted learning programme is implemented to provide for the needs of each learner. This classroom accommodates a maximum of 6 learners with a classroom facilitator and assistant to provide individual and small-group support. Our intermediate phase high support programme focuses on functional academic learning, social skills intervention, and practical learning activities (including food preparation, cleaning and laundry tasks, gardening, crafting, safety education, and creative arts) to develop learners’ independence across daily functional tasks and develop each child’s unique skills.

Therapy Services

Our experienced and skilled therapists provide occupational therapy and speech-language therapy to learners during school hours. Our therapists also play a vital role in providing classroom support and ensuring the transfer of skills to the classroom and daily living. Occupational therapy services are included in our school fees. Speech-language therapy is available at additional approved HPCSA rates. Diagnostic Services as well as private therapy are also available at our school and provided by our multi-disciplinary team.
